There are many business networking groups around; some of which rely almost entirely upon the members giving each other referrals. Unfortunately, some people don’t recognise the difference between a referral and an order. Telling the office supply member of the group that you have a referral and then proudly announcing that you need a toner cartridge isn’t a referral, it’s an order!
However, everyone you do business with knows someone who may be a possible, future client.
Everyone has suppliers, customers, friends, relations, neighbours, football crew, gym buddies, newsagent, garage owner, hairdresser, doctor, dentist, dog groomer. You get my drift. Everyone knows someone who could be useful to you and your business.
So ask. Most people want to help colleagues. Ask.
